There are many “traditions” for making pasta that evolved over hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years, depending on the Region. 

Dry pasta noodles are usually made by mixing Wheat Semolina flour with water, and the mix is rolled out or extruded into various shapes.

Some specialty fresh pastas, like Ravioli, are made by using eggs instead of water, which produces a softer, more silky texture. Eggs also add extra protein and fat. In other cases people add ingredients like Spinach, or Tomato sauce, to produce more exotic colors.

But the inherent “defect” of Wheat is the High Glycemic Index (High-GI) which is a proven central cause of the Global Metabolic Health crisis known as Type 2 Diabetes and the pre-cursor condition known as Insulin Resistance.

Absolutely yes, and with every bite. We aren’t just marginally more nutritious that the others, we surpass every other pasta on the market and the mouthfeel and taste are exceptional. In fact, many of our customers prefer our pasta to even the traditional brands, we taste that good!

Our high quality, proprietary plant based protein blend called Manatein is the only one in the market that offers complete EAA like meat. Our pasta is 85% less carbs and 10x more fiber and gut health prebiotics. Infact, just one 85g plate of pasta, gives you enough fiber for the whole day.

VIVAlean is the perfect solution for those following low carb, keto or diabetic- friendly diets,without compromise on taste, flavour or indulgent comfort. It has just 14 net carbs per seving. Net carbs are total carbs minus dietary fiber.

  • The York University Glycemic Response study we concluded based on our VIVAlean formulations proved 2 things: Everyone has a uniquely individual response to Glucose which must be measured with a Glucose meter after consuming various foods. The general conclusion is that low-GI foods result in lower Glycemic response which is interpreted as preferrable. While we can’t guarantee the outcome as everyone’s different, we have lots of happy customers with diabetes, and we have not received any reports of spiking blood sugar levels.

Our pasta is shelf stable and is best enjoyed within the 2 years of your purchase. Please store in
a cool, dry space to best maintain freshness.

Our products are made in Canada.

 

Our ingredients are non-GMO, glyphosates free, diabetic friendly.

All recent tests have confirmed “not detected” for glyphosate. We use regeneratively grown, non-gmo grains and pulses to make our VIVAlean pasta and rice. In addition we use, third party lab to independently test our products for glyphosate.

VIVAlean cooks a lot faster than regular pasta, anywhere from 4-6 minutes. This time varies by shape, so please reference the packaging insturaitons. Make sure you bil ingenerouls salted water, and not overcook.
