Most high-protein pastas rely on a single plant source – like pea, wheat, or lupin, and no single plant has enough of the complete Essential Amino Acids in concentrations our bodies need and can’t synthesize.<\/p>

The other “secret” about other High-Protein Pastas is that they often use Protein Concentrates to make High-Protein claims. Our extensive research proved that these protein products are usually manufactured under harsh extraction methods, using chemical solvents and high temperatures, all of which can severely “denature” protein molecules, severely limiting “digestibility”. So the label say “protein”, you paid a high price, but your body doesn’t recognize it and there’s no nutritional benefit.
Our approach was VERY different. We began our research by asking a silly question: “Just suppose we were stranded on a desert island, or on a mission to Mars, could we design our VIVAlean<\/span> pasta as a Super-Food to keep us alive and healthy for years, and could we make it so tasty that we never tire of it?<\/p>

Our proprietary blend of proteins, called ManateinTM<\/sup> , are a blend of 9 different GENTLY processed plants which we chose not only for their taste, but because they compliment each other to mimic the Highest Quality of Essential Amino Acids of meat, eggs, and dairy.

There are many “traditions” for making pasta that evolved over hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years, depending on the Region.<\/p>

Dry pasta noodles are usually made by mixing Wheat Semolina flour with water, and the mix is rolled out or extruded into various shapes.<\/p>

Some specialty fresh pastas, like Ravioli, are made by using eggs instead of water, which produces a softer, more silky texture. Eggs also add extra protein and fat. In other cases people add ingredients like Spinach, or Tomato sauce, to produce more exotic colors.<\/p>

But the inherent “defect” of Wheat is the High Glycemic Index (High-GI) which is a proven central cause of the Global Metabolic Health crisis known as Type 2 Diabetes and the pre-cursor condition known as Insulin Resistance.

  • The York University Glycemic Response study we concluded based on our VIVAlean formulations proved 2 things: Everyone has a uniquely individual response to Glucose which must be measured with a Glucose meter after consuming various foods. The general conclusion is that low-GI foods result in lower Glycemic response which is interpreted as preferrable.
